Volunteer

We offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups here at The Baddour Center! Gordon B. Hinckley once said, "The happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others." After a day of volunteering at The Baddour Center, you will see that Baddour is one of the happiest places on earth! If you're interested in any of the following group or individual opportunities or if you have a specific volunteer need, please contact Mary Dade Ford at mford@baddour.org or call her directly at 662.366.6930 to see how you can join in spreading happiness!

Group Opportunities Throughout the Year:

  • Food Ninjas – We purchase all of our food in bulk and distribute the food with a menu each week from our Food Distribution Center.  Come and help residents inventory, pack and deliver food and the weekly menu to the homes.
  • Workin’ On Our Fitness – Who doesn’t like to mix up your daily workout routine?  Come visit us during Fitness Class and let’s go for a walk!  We have a beautiful 120 acre campus.  Let us pair your group up with 3-4 residents per volunteer and let them give you a personal tour of campus while you motive them to meet their fitness goal for the day!
  • Glam Squad – We all love a little pampering from time to time and here at Baddour we always have an excuse to get dressed up!  If your group would be interested in doing hair and make up for special events, play, homecoming or dances, give us a call!
  • Cleaning Crew – Just like in your home, organizing and cleaning pantries and freezers and just a good, deep spring/fall cleaning is a must!  We have 14 group homes and 7 duplex apartments plus a Food Distribution Center on campus that could always use a deep clean and some organization.
  • Fix It Uppers – Think of all the repairs you do your house in a year’s time.  Now multiply that times 14 homes!  We always need volunteers willing to make small repairs in group homes such as painting, moving furniture, changing out light bulbs, toilet seats, etc.
  • Spiritual Growth
    • Ministry Minded -Does your church have a choir, performing arts group, puppet ministry or dance team?  We would love for you to come and minister with us!  We ask that all ministries be non-denominational and messages must be approved but we would love to worship with you!
    • Prayer Luncheons – We like to quarterly have a men and women’s prayer luncheon.  Your group could provide a light lunch and devotion along with a great time of fellowship!
  • Par-Tay People– We love to party here at Baddour and find all kinds of reasons to do so!  Your group could host a game day, a movie night, pizza night, a themed dance… any reason to get together, we are all for it!  (Parties require at least 6 weeks in advance notice so residents can sign up to attend.)

  • Calling All Campers – Baddour Center has a summer program each summer (Sunday-Friday each week in June) and we would love to have you come help!  Swimming, s’mores, art class, morning devotions, and as much fun that we can squeeze into a day is what you can expect!

  • Attention, Please! – Some of our residents really enjoy getting to know new people and want to sit down with you one-on-one to get to know you better!  Scheduled attention is a great way for you to help us give residents positive attention.
  • Strike A Pose – If you’re a talented photographer or videographer, we are always trying to update our photo library and social media.  We have residents from 25 different states living at The Center so to be able to capture a great smile, a resident learning a new skill or simply hanging out with friends is always a great way to keep in touch with their families!
  • Talented Teachers - The residents here at Baddour Center are always anxious to learn to grow!  Do you have a talent that you could teach us?  Here are a few classes that residents have expressed an interest in learning more about!  If you could help teach or lead a class we need you!

    • Mock Job Interview Training

    • Budgeting 101
